Replacing a section of roof shingles.

To access the nails the shingle will need to be lifted. In order to replace damaged roof shingles you need to remove the damaged shingle install the new one and seal the edges. When replacing roof decking you first need to get rid of the old rotten section. When replacing a damaged asphalt roof shingle you can either replace the entire piece or cut the shingle into sections and replace just a single tab.

Pick a day when the weather is moderate to do the repair too cold and the shingles can crack.
