If your threshold is in rough shape replace it.
Measure and cut the replacement jamb to length.
If the threshold is rotted the sill probably is too.
Use a scrap of the door jamb to scribe the threshold angle transfer the angle to the door stop on the replacement jamb and notch the jamb.
Measure from the threshold to the bottom of the door stop.
To repair rotted door frame first remove rotted wood with a 5 in 1 or other sharp tool.

Cut the rotten door sill into pieces using an oscillating tool or circular saw.
