Once you have safely gotten to the broken tile.
Replace broken tile on roof.
One important tip when replacing any broken tiles or slates is this always try to get a colour match if possible.
Ensure you have the correct replacement tile as there are many different roof tiles on the market.
Now lift up the adjoining tile to the left of the broken tile and lift it with a crowbar.
Often a good roofing merchant will have a reclamation section where worn nearly new tiles or various coloured slates will be available this will make the final repair extremely hard to detect after light weathering.
Also pry or force out any nails.
Only do this if you know it can be done safely using a stable ladder and perhaps even using.
