Hi the softtop roof on my 2006 z4 unlatches from the screen and the main motor runs for 2 seconds and the roof stops open 2 5cm or an inch. A replacement motor was a cool 350 plus a new housing and hydraulic repair kit bringing the total to 450. Here are some nice instructions with pictures.
