Clean the plastic surface to remove any dirt or debris. Make sure the area is clean and dry before you move on to the next step. Gently rub it in a circular motion all around the scratch. If the area is made of smooth plastic then lightly sand the area with 2000 grit sandpaper.

Shallow scratches can often be buffed out. A grain pad will re texture the plastic to match the rest of the plastic part. Take a clean damp cloth and dip it into some warm soapy water. Clean the area on and around the scratch with interior plastic cleaner.

Removing all the dirt and debris will help you get a smooth finish and stop dirt from melting into the plastic which could affect the colour. Using a heat gun put the heat to about half and warm the scratched surface until it is soft and mushy.
