The slider rails are tracks that hold the upper rollers of each sliding panel. Once this is complete repeat the process with the inside closet door. The method of removal varies depending on the type of door. 3 stand directly in front of the first closet door and grasp each.

First loosen the brackets at the top of each door with a flathead or philips head screwdriver. If your doors are in need of an update you can remove the doors in minutes to prepare them for painting. Next carefully lift the door up at a slight angle to remove the bottom rollers from the track. Getting the closet doors off the slider rails requires removing the floor guide at the bottom.

Most of the time the door will pop right off. Lift the mirrored sliding doors from the upper and lower track. Some can be removed by lifting the door straight up off the track or some might require you to hold down a small lever. This will help you catch the first door while you re removing it.

Remove the outside closet door by first sliding the door to the center of the track. Then angle the door towards you and pull gently detaching the door from its top track. Remove the screws holding the bottom track in place with a screwdriver. At the bottom of the opening is a floor guide with two channels.
