Remove Sliding Wooden Door From Track

Remove the outside closet door by first sliding the door to the center of the track.

In order to remove the sliding one effectively lift it upwards into the upper track and ask a helper to push the bottom gently and carefully toward you. Step 3 remove the stationary panel. 4 remove the door completely by fully unscrewing the brackets on top. 2 slide the closet doors so one is directly in front of the other.

The door should slide right out of the top track once you ve freed it from the bottom track. Grab the bottom of the door and give it a little swing to make sure it has been disengaged from the bottom track. Once this is complete repeat the process with the inside closet door. On some sliding doors the brackets are only used to adjust the height of the door and the wheels are just hanging on the track.

Then tilt it slightly with help and remove it from the upper track of the door frame as well. Sliding patio doors have two separate units namely the sliding door panel and the stationary panel. If the bottom of the door won t come off of the track unscrew all of the brackets off of the bottom and then try it again. 4 removing the sliding door before removing the door slide it to the point in the track where you see an indent.

Once the door is completely loose from the frame set it aside somewhere safe such as against the side of the house or lying flat on a work bench. Remove the door by pulling it out of the top track of the door frame. Once you remove all the screws lift the door up and make sure that it is completely removed from the bottom track of the door frame.
